  1. Default Boston to Myrtle Beach

    Hi all,
Several friends and I are planning a road trip from Boston to Myrtle Beach for spring break. Does anyone have any suggestions of interesting sites on the way and good (preferably cheap) places to eat. For example, we're driving on the Chesapeake Bay Tunnel-Bridge and are planning on eating at South of the Border in South Carolina, which was featured on the Food Network as one of the kitschiest restaurants in America. We've actually been looking for restaurants that serve giant foods (12 egg omlet sort of thing). Also if anyone has any suggestions for fun things to do in Myrtle Beach, that would be great. Thanks!

. Welcome to the Great American RoadTrip Forum! One of the first things I would suggest is to take our RoadTrip Companion Compatibility Quiz and discuss the responses with all of your would-be travel mates.

You like Chocolate? At exit 10 on I-95, you might want to fortify yourselves with some "ice cream drop chocolate" pieces at Furlong's Cottage Candies, in Providence, Rhode Island I would opt for the meatball sandwich at Angelos. If you saw the movie "K-19: The Widowmaker" you can go onboard this Russian sub at Collier Point Park.

In the "free" department if you have a "Super 8 motel" mug ($5) you can stop in and have a cup of coffee for free at any Super 8 motel. Also, most Welcome Centers (found at the state borders on Interstate highwaus) stock discount certificates for restaurants and motels in the nearby area.

Louis Lunch in New Haven, CT claims to be the birthplace of the hamburger. Fairfield, is home to SuperDuper Weenie -- long considered to be "the spot" for hotdogs. And don't forget your dose of White Castle "sliders".

    Happy Planning!
