    Default Ferries to Angel Island

    Hi all,
I am looking for a trip to Angel Island. Plan to take a ferry from SFO.
Any tips to buy cheaper ferry tickets?
Also, I would like to leave SFO on Sat morning and camp at the island overnight. Leave the island on sunday and come back. So, would the ferries require me to come back the same day?

Any tips on choosing a campsite would be welcome. I am targetting East bay sites to avoid the wind. Might do a sunset hike to Mt. Livermore to see SFO skyline.

    thanks in advance.

    Cool

    Cool,
From what I could find online Via Google, unless you go for a trip sometime from May through September, you may have to comeback the same day. per the Angel Island - Tiburon Ferry Website, all other months they have a flexible schedule during the week, and a posted schedule May-Sept. While they may have service (I didn't go checking each month), it's easier in my opinion to plan when you know well in advance of what the ferry operations are going to be.

It's been many, many moons since I was on Angel Island (a relative of mine owned his own boat, so transport was nothing of concern), so all I can relate to you is information via their websites.

I didn't see anything regarding cheaper ways to get tickets on the ferry, but you could always see about renting a boat for the weekend and just transport yourself. You could always check with a travel agent or if you're an AAA member their local office to see if they have any special partnerships or deals.

Hope I was of some help!

PS - If you already haven't found the Angel Island State Park site, here it is... it offers some information on sites, and choosing one.

    thanks.
I also came across the info abt major activity during the summer, but in summer, SFO can get foggy most times. Just getting greedy there :)
I am looking for a ferry ride from SFO. So, will start looking up.

    thanks a lot, again.
