Road Trip From Toronto to ???

Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone has suggestions for a 7-10 day road trip in August to the US from Toronto, Canada...we have a four year old girl and two year old son. Any suggestions are welcomed..Thanks

There are a few questions we get quite frequently, and the "where should we go" is among the hardest to answer.

The destination really is kind of the core starting point for a trip, and no one on any internet forum is going to know nearly as well as you what sort of place would work well for you and your family - based on your interests and how you like to travel.

With up to 10 days from Toronto, pretty much anything in the Eastern Half of the US is within your reach. At the extremes, you could go about 1500 miles, which would put you on the road for about 3 full days each way. A few destination that would be within that range would be South Dakota's Black Hills, Denver, Dallas, New Orleans, all of Florida, and the entire East Coast.

Sometimes the best thing to do is to get out a big map and just start looking for ideas and at all of your options. Once you have a better idea of what you'd like to do, we'll be glad to help you try to put everything together.
