  1. Default Memphis to Seattle-Tips??

    Hi Everyone,

I will be making this drive and I have a couple different options. The first option is I-80W and I-84 W which would take me across Nebraska, Wyoming, and Oregon. The other option is north from Memphis to Sioux Falls and than take I-90 W across Montana and eastern Washington. The latter sounds much more entertaining to me and incorporates the possibility of going to some vineyards in WA. What I'm wondering is if anyone has any experience with these two routes and what are thoughts? Thanks!

    Default Totally Up To You

Welcome aboard the RoadTrip America Forums!

The alternative route through South Dakota on I-90 adds only about 55 miles to your drive, but lets you visit Badlands National Park, Mount Rushmore, Devils Tower, and the Little Bighorn Battlefield. On the other hand, the I-80 route would take you along the old Oregon Trail, by the Great Salt Lake, and Down the Snake River Valley. So there really is no wrong decision here. Just take whichever one appeals to you. After all, you're the one making the trip.

Default I-90 is the better choice

If you want to see what is available from Sioux Falls to Seattle, take a look at my road Trip Report in the Field Trip Reports section of this Forum. It is titled "2009: Touring the Northwest" I think you'll find something to entertain you along that route.
