Hotels and 19 year olds?

My 18 year old son wants to spend a weekend in a nearby city with a few friends, to atend a concert. One friend is 18 and the other is 18 (so no minors). H is worried that hotels will refuse to allow them to stay because they are all under 21. I have looked at the websites of a a few hotels and I can find nothing about age requirements. Where would I find information about a hotel's age requirements?

I would call the specific hotels. Don't call the national reservation line, call the hotel itself.

You can check out the RTA lodging link and when you have selected a hotel at the bottom you will find 'Important information' where some state anyone under a certain age must be accompanied by an adult. However I wouldn't say that if it's not stated it doesn't neccessarily mean they would be accepted. Once you have got to the booking stage you should find 'Terms and conditions' but if in any doubt contact the property directly. I believe a minimum age is 18 years but some Hotels have a 21 year old limit.

It might not even be enough to check with the actual hotel's website instead of the chain's. Timing may be at least as important as place. You say that your son is going to attend a concert. If the concert is, say, by a death-metal group, the rules may change due to the clientele that such a concert would attract. I know that in my own case, when I was younger, I was denied entry into Canada because three of my friends and I were headed to Toronto at the same time as that city was hosting a large, multi-band concert.
