NYC -> Toronto -> Montreal

I'm planning for a roadtrip next month from NYC to Toronto, then to Montreal and back.

There are plenty of attractions to see in the city so I am not too worry about it. My problem is what is there to do on the road?

What's interest and worth seeing on the way?

I found so far:
Niagara Falls
Corning museum
1000 islands

Any other recommendations?

Any good restaurants in the cities and on the road?

As for other recommendations along your route, everyone's idea of what to see might be different. Some love the scenic, some prefer the kitschy, others love the history. With food, what might be there yesterday and great, might have gone out of business today, or changed owners and chefs/cooks. So our recommendations are to poke around this website and see what's along your proposed route that interests you, then come back and let us know.

It would also help us to help you, if we knew how much time you've allotted for the trip up/back and what routes you are using (or if those are open so you can choose your sightseeing better).

If you're in the vicinity of Niagara Falls, consider stopping off in nearby Niagara on the Lake - it's a very picturesque little town on the Canadian side that's pleasantly calm after the bustle at the falls.

In Montreal find somewhere to try the "steamies", the local variety of hot dogs.
