Drive from Phoenix to Dallas

Hello All

We are planning to drive from Phoenix to Dallas in December. I know its a long drive. I want to know best place to stay over night, take a break and then continue driving.

Instead of staying in a motel, I want to know if there any fun places to stay for a day like theme parks, camping sites etc(I've plenty of time )

I'm not quite sure what you mean by spending a day at an amusement park rather than in a motel, but the drive you have before you is a solid 2 day effort with no stops other than for a good night's sleep. If, however, you have lots of time, an extra day say, then rather than try to find one place to spend all that extra time why not consider multiple shorter stops and two nights' sleep. Small detours would take you to White Sands National Monument and Carlsbad Caverns and/or Guadalupe Mountains National Parks. Another lesser known venue on your way is Monahans Sandhills State Park.

The halfway point between Phoenix and Dallas is Van Horn TX, which has several national chain hotels and motels.
