Help -- driving from Portland, OR to Fort Worth, TX

I am planning a road trip from Portland, OR to Fort Worth, TX, with a need to stop in Provo, UT for a couple of days for a business convention. I plan on traveling the entire month of October. I have all the time in the world and would like to know if you have any suggestions on things I shouldn't miss along the way. I have no plans other than the need to be in Provo, UT for a couple of days and perhaps stopping in Parker, CO to visit a friend. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

With a whole Month available and your driving and business meeting able to be completed in under a week, there really are too many options to start making a list just yet. What are your interests ? Is there a time frame for before Provo and after Provo ? Is it a one way trip or return to Portland ?

Have a look around the forums and study the map for a couple of places that really appeal, whether National parks or City's and when you have a couple of dots on the map we can help fill in the blanks.
