Relocating Road Trip- FL to Los Angeles!

I'm moving from the Orlando area to S. Cali.

The plan is to go from Orlando > New Orleans

New Orleans > Austin

Austin > ??, New Mexico

NM > Phoenix

Phoenix > LA

I'm bringing my 2 dogs, and there are 2 of us traveling. Suggested routes along the way? Places to stop? Roads to avoid? Please HELP!!!!

If your list of places are overnight stops, and that is the limit of your time you are on the minimum time of 5 days that we would normally recommend for this trip while travelling on Interstate, and that's for humans ! I am not sure if it might be a little too much for the dogs, but you could take a look here for places to take a little R & R just off the main Interstate.

Fastest way is the Turnpike to I-75 to I-10. Breaking it into 5 equal time driving days, your overnights should be:

Pascagoula MS
West side of Houston
Fort Stockton TX
Tucson

Best hotel rates are going to be at the Interstate exits away from large cities. Motel 6 and La Quinta are 2 pet-friendly chains.
