What are your goals for this leg? My mapping program says the fastest route is US-17 to I-95 to I-16 to GA-96/US-80 to Columbus. It's about 350 miles and should take about 7 hours.

Apparently there are two (or more) ways that you can go. One is I-20 around Atlanta and down, and the other is I-16. According to Yahoo maps, there is about a 25 minute time difference. I was wondering if one route is more scenic than the other, or if there are road issues on one or the other that I should be aware of. Thanks.

Atlanta adds 50 to 75 miles and 35 to 45 minutes according to my software. There is also the potential for traffic delays around Atlanta. I don't think there would be much difference in scenery.
