golden triangle SanFran - LV - LA

Please help.

Im in early stages of planning this one with aleady a goof made. I fly in to San Fran march 30 so collect 31st, and depart LA on April 17th. Plan is to visit Las vegas and G/Canyon for approx 4 days in the middle with the last 6 days or so in LA. Was intendending to go San Fran to LV via Yosemite and Death Valley but understand from this Forum that the roads may be closed due snow and that going south via Bakersfield is the option?!

Gratfel for any confirmation, info sources or other suggested destinations. This is my first trip so open to all sugestions. Trip will be in RV with children 11 and 6 plus parents in their 60's.

On your way from LV to GC (north rim), you could visit Valley of Fire SP, Hoover Dam, tour Lake Mead, and drive through Zion NP. Also, If you are planning to go to the north rim of the GC, Bryce Canyon is only a short detour and it's definitely worth it. I strongly suggest you buy a National Parks Annual Pass especially if you plan to visit a few Parks.

We did a similar trip in February 2002 and the pass through Yosemite was closed. We ended up going the Bakersfield route to get to Death Valley.
