Road Trip Idaho Falls to Lake Tahoe Need Advice

Has anyone ever driven from Idaho Falls, ID to Lake Tahoe, specifically Truckee, CA? We are interested in driving it this summer and wondered what the driving conditions, roads etc were like? Thanks

MS Streets & Trips says that it's about 650 miles from Idaho Falls to Truckee and suggests taking I-15 to Pocatello, then I-86 until it merges with I-84 just east of Burley, then I-84 to Twin Falls. At Twin Falls, go west on 50 until you east of Twin Falls where you will turn south on 93. Then go west on I-80. I-80 takes you straight to Truckee.
