  1. Default Which way to go! Las Vegas to San Fran

I am driving from Las Vegas to San Francisco and I am looking for a 1 night stop en route to break up my journey. Any ideas would be a great help. I am travelling with a freind so some where with a bit of life would be good.

    Default "a life"

    Welcome to the RTA Forum!

There are thousands upon thousands of posts laying out tons of options for this trip. It is far and away the most discussed basic route on this forum.

Basically there are 3 options. Going through Death Valley and Yosemite, although this may not be possible depending upon the season.

Going direct, over to Bakersfield and up I-5.

Going to the California coast and up. This is a bit far for a 2 day trip, but feasable if you don't mind 2 long days.

Having said that, we don't know what you might be interested in, nor do we know where you would find "a life" (or perhaps, we dont know where you wouldn't find it?), but that's the basics of your options. Please look around here a bit, which should give you an idea of what would work best for you.

The largest city that would be a logical stop is Bakersfield.
