  1. Default NYC To Seattle January Mtn hopping along the way

My FiancÚ and I are relocating to Seattle from NYC. We are avid snowboarders and figured why not take a couple weeks and mt hop all the way. We were planning on leaving the day after Christmas and heading to Colorado (steamboat) then from there off to Utah (park city) for a few days then up to Idaho (sun valley) and up to Montana (Big Sky-Bridger) then over to Seattle. We plan on taking 2 weeks but since we have both never done the drive and it will be winter we are not sure how road conditions are or what roads will even be open. We are willing to switch around the route but when we mapped it out the steamboat to park city stretch looks like it could get pretty bad in the winter. Any suggestions or help that anybody can give will be greatly appreciated.

Welcome aboard the RoadTrip America Forums!

Each of the locations you have listed is a winter resort whose economy depends on skiers and snowboarders being able to reach them, especially when there is a lot of snow. The roads to them will be open if at all humanly possible. You may be required, on some mountain passes, to have and use chains so make sure that you have a good set and practice putting them on/off in good weather so you're ready to install them in bad weather.
