  1. Default Honeymoon Road Trip

We are looking for honeymoon (Oct 2013) road trip ideas out of western Virginia and approximately two weeks in duration. Initial thought is New England but have thought about longer, possibly west coast or eastern Canada, trips. We have recently made separate trips to Estes Park, CO (excellent destination), NYC, and Miami and are looking for new destinations, intermediate sites, and attractions. Any ideas??

    Welcome!

October is a very popular time to visit New England - the leaf colors are in their prime. This does make for crowds. Eastern Canada could be included.

2 weeks isn't really enough time to drive to the west coast and back and see a heck of a lot. If you want to do the west coast, a fly/drive would be a lot better - do a "loop trip" out of some place out there - LA, SF, LV, SLC. Early October is a great time to see Yellowstone - although a lot of the amenities are closed for the season, the summer crowds are gone and the lodging rates are down. All the roads in the park should still be open. The southern Utah parks, Grand Canyon, and/or California attractions would be possible.

If you want to make it just a driving trip from/to western VA, you probably need to keep it east of the Mississippi River - you have the Skyline Drive, Blue Ridge Parkway, Smokies, Natchez Trace, and the coast - perhaps the Outer Banks.
