  1. Default Pittsburgh to Chicago, July 29-08/02/2009

    Hello All,

My husband and I are heading our first roadtrip west, to chicago. We are traveling on I-70 through Indiana to get there.

Is there anything cool to see on the way? or stop at? Also, we have never been to Chicago, so any tips of attractions and restaurants would be great.

We are easy going, boardwalk-funnel cake loving people who enjoy zoo's, festivals, etc...

    thanks

    Jeri in PGH

    Default Welcome!

Welcome to the RoadTrip America Forum!

You're a couple of weeks too early for the sweet corn festival, but one stop along that route would be the National Museum of the USAF at Wright-Patterson AFB near Dayton, Ohio. I also found a page listing upcoming festivals in Columbus.

Is your route back the same, or will you be taking a more Northern route? I don't believe there is a large difference in the mileage (speaking relative to the typical road trip discussed herein) by coming back via Cleveland, for instance.
