Boston to West Bloomfield

Hiya

We're visiting some friends in Boston before driving to West Bloomfield in MI to visit some family. We'll have 3 days can any one suggest great places to stop on the way?
We'll be visiting Niagara Falls & Toronto on the return journey a week later when we have more time.

We're a couple in our late 20's and enjoy hiking, walking, exploring, shopping, eating - the things most people like :)
