Florida Roadtrip

I came across this website a few months back when looking for ideas on my West Coast Road Trip. Having just arrived back from the best 2 weeks ever I am here to plan the next. It was my first visit to the States, and it lived up to everything I could imagine and more! I travelled with my girlfriend from LA to Monterey along the pacif coast (AMAZING), then on to Yosemite and then to Las Vegas where we also took a chopper to the Grand Canyon. I could never have imagined planning a 2 week trip like this before, we are used to the usual package holidays! I would just like to say thankyou to the great people on this website....I must have spent hours reading ideas about where to go and which road to take...but it help so much!!!

So...having loved America so much, I want to go back....this time - Florida:-)

Unfortunately I can't seem to find as many ideas for Florida as i could for california. I would like visit Miami, Everglades, Keys and end up in Orlando. Was thinking of flying in to Miami and out of Orlando and staying for 2 weeks.

I was hoping you guys might help with a few questions I have!

1. Would you reccomend staying in the Everglades....or just visiting for the day?
2. Is it worth travelling to west coast of florida - most people seem to travel down the east side?
3. Have I missed a major place out of my trip? So far i have Orlando, Miami, Everglades, and Keys?
4. Can you get to havana from florida or are the US still not friendly with Cuba?

Hope you can help and thanks for the ideas on california - best road trip ever!

I could spend a month in the glades...

Nope, not from Florida -- you need to fly in from Mexico.

Just spent the last hour reading all your links. Really helpfull infor there. Now thinking of flying in and out of Miami and then doing a full tour of Florida (ensuring I stay at the keys mid week). Most excited about the everglades, have always wanted to do the whole hovercraft thing and see the crocs!!

I just got back from a great roadtrip with my kids. A must see is Silver Springs near Ocala. It is the oldest attraction in Florida and still has most of its charm. We also visited Bok Tower and gardens, really beautiful.
