Road Trip from New York City to Toronto

I'm planning a roadtrip from New York City to Toronto with my boyfriend. Any suggestions for the ride up or things to do while there?

Here's a post where I talk about a very similar trip. If, instead of going from Montréal to Boston through New England, you came down through Burlington, across Lake Champlain and down the Hudson River Valley, you'd have yourself a great little loop trip. The things I remember most about Toronto are the Zoo, the waterfront, Yorkville, and the CN Tower.

I checked out the postings and it really sounds like a good idea. I didn't even thinking about looping around like that to Montreal and down through New England on the way back. Thanks so much!
