Default A day trip to the Tehachapis on April 9, 2022

The Tehachapi Loop from the new overlook viewing platform. EB UP manifest meets WB BNSF manifest.
Notice how the EB UP has actually looped itself!

On Saturday April 9th, I took a day trip to the Tehachapis. This was the first photo trip I've taken since May 1, 2020.
The hills are already drying out and there are very few wildflowers this year. Nonetheless, it was great to get outdoors in my favorite train-watching place of all. This year marks 58 years of chasing trains in the Tehachapis.
Note: WB = Northbound toward Bakersfield. EB = Southbound toward Mojave

WB BNSF manifest crossing Tehachapi Creek at west end of Rowen. In the background is "Three Peaks" a well-known Tehachapi landmark for train watchers and wildlflower enthusiasts.

EB UP manifest leaving Caliente crossing Caliente Creek.

    WB UP manifest approaching Monolith.

This the Loop viewing area referenced above. It was built by the Friends of the Tehachapi Depot

WB BNSF manifest at Caliente road crossing.

Same WB as the photo above meeting EB BNSF at Caliente. The WB's train is visible in the background.

Where is the parking area? Or how many vehicles can park at the viewing area?
