Hi Everyone. I am new to RTA. Thank you in advance for any help or advice.
My husband and I are going to LA for couple months with our dog. We've both driven cross country before and feel too old to race across (like we did in our 20's), but also don't have THAT much time to kill on the road. I think about 8-10 days would be ideal. I've done Rt 40 a couple times so I'd love to change it up this time, but without adding too much mileage to the drive. I'd also like it to be fairly scenic if possible (not endless flat roads of the midwest). And of course, there's the snow to consider in January. We have a Honda CRV so it's decent in snow, but ice is bad news for any type of car i think. If anyone has any suggestions we'd be grateful. We like off-the beaten path and the unique. BUT.... with the dog, i think we need to stay along a route that will have pet-friendly hotel options.
OK... so I i know that all makes us sounds pretty particular.... so Thanks again.
