With daytime temperatures not getting much above freezing Sunday and Monday and the threat of more snow on the high ground, it doesn't look as though it will open any time soon. Will it open again this season ? Could Mark (Sedenquist) be crowned the new Tppc (Tioga pass prognosticator champion) for the first time ? Watch this space.
Dave.
Sonora Pass closed for the winter on 11/21. Ebbetts Pass is currently closed due to snow. Tioga Pass and Glacier Point are still closed at this time.
And tonight on YNP website
Tioga Road (Hwy 120 through the park) and Glacier Point Road are closed for the season
The Yosemite site has said it is closed for the season but there have been no updates on their official 'Opening and closing dates' page so we will have to wait and see what the verdict is. A Yosemite Facebook post was made on November 15th at 1:30am stating that the "The Tioga Road closed this morning due to icy conditions." Now that means they either made the call and closed it midnight onwards of the 15th, or "this morning" referred to sometime during the morning of the 14th. Mark (Sedenquist) has predicted 8:30am November 15th so fingers crossed.

Gorgeous photo!
Good luck with this one, folks....tough call, perhaps????

I know it's not official for the contest, but Caltrans shows the closure date as 11/29. Now shows Ebbetts Pass closed for the season on 11/30.

There was a 2017 closing date last night on the YNP's list of opening and closing dates. (The date was not my prediction which turned out to be the announcement not the official" closing.).
