  1. Default Canadian* Saskatchewan to Carlsbad, California

    Hello!
I'm going to be going to the states for the first time. Driving from Saskatchewan, through Montana, Nevada (OR Utah) and then to California. Open to going through Wyoming, COLORADO, or Arizona, Depending on sites or events. Going end of AUGUST 2015
Just my Girl and I going. Early 20's. We have about a week there, a week on the way back. Im digging abandoned sites, or Ghost towns, major landmarks... And unique features of that state

    Welcome to the RTA Forum!

We really don't believe in generic "best" place, especially when you've outlined route possibilities that include basically all of the American West.

Without having any idea about how much time you have, what your interests are, and who will be making this trip (solo, family, old, young, etc), we can't even begin to start narrowing down the possibilities.

I'd suggest you start by using the "How to Use this Site" link at the top of the page, and lay a foundation for what places you might consider "must sees." Once you have a better idea of what it is you are looking for, then others can help you start figuring out the details.

Default More choices than what you will have time for.

Do you actually have good maps to plan this trip. Good maps will give much of the information for which you are looking. If you are a member of CAA, you can pick up maps of each State there. You can then decide which are your must sees, and construct your itenirary from there. With a week you have a bit of time to wander. Here is a paragraph which may help you get started.

Those are your essential tool in any RoadTrip planning process. Start by marking all the places you know you want to visit. Then connect the dots. Then look for more places of interest and scenic routes along the lines connecting the dots. Repeat until you've got as many sites and roads as you think you want.
