    Welcome to RTA!

How much time do you have for this trip, and where in Arizona is your final destination?

As for budget lodging, the least expensive is camping, of course, but it's not free. You have to pay for your tent and sleeping bags, and then there's the overnights, which are $15-25 in most government type campgrounds.

The next tier up are cheap motels, found either by coupons, deals online, or staying in one of the many budget-friendly chains like Rodeway, America's Best Value Inn, or Motel 6. Some mom and pop run motels will also fall into the category of budget-friendly.

Oatman, AZ!!!! Check it out. Old west gun fights, wild burros. It's a cool spot. Kinda touristy but worth it.

If your plans are not set in stone, you could head north to BODIE. It is a REAL ghost town, or should I say Ghost City. Look it up. Here is a video I found. It shows just how far off the beaten path this ghost town is!

Is this a solo trip. If it is, you might like to check out hostels.

The most I have paid for a hostel is $40 in NYC in 2007. The least I have paid is $8 in Moab, in 2001.
