    Default Southeast Road Trip Suggestions

Our nephew is graduating boot camp at the end of April in Ft. Benning Georgia so we're flying out to attend. I procrastinate like no other and was looking for some help planning a route :) So here are some details that will probably be helpful:
    *3 adults and 2 kids
    *flying into Atlanta the 25th
*will have the 26th-29th to explore
    * need to be back Wednesday night for a dinner on base
*will have half of Thursday and Friday to explore some more
    *leave early Saturday morning

Kind of want to see how many states we can get to but want to actually do or see something in the states so not just driving through them. Any ideas on cool thanks ngs to see, places to stay or eat would be super helpful!!

Well it doesn't sound like you have much time, here are a couple things to do in GA. Atlanta cutlery is in Conyers. Traveler's Rest Historic Site is in Toccoa. I don't know how close the fort is to SC but there is Miniature World of Trains up in Greenville.

    Default A Georgia Loop

Depending on how much driving you want to do and what you'd like to see, there are several options for spending a few days seeing Georgia. But trying to keep the driving portion at under a day so as to leave you a couple of days for actually seeing things, I'd suggest that you tour southwestern Georgia. If you headed southeast from Atlanta to start, Eatonton might prove a worthwhile stop, then Andersonville for a darker bit of Civil War history. Next up would be a possible visit to President Carter's hometown then Fort Benning on Wednesday evening. On the return to Atlanta FDR's Little White House would be instructional and relaxing. And if all that seems a little bit too weighted towards history and 'education', there are plenty of more nature-oriented venues along the way including Piedmont National Wildlife Refuge, Georgia Veterans Memorial State Park, Providence Canyon State Outdoor Recreation Area, and John Tanner County Park.
