There are 2 more downsides to buying gas at Costco - a lot of them always have long lines at the pumps, and their gas is very high ethanol content which means you probably will get worse gas mileage using it than you would get elsewhere. I know my truck hates the stuff, it also hates Arco gas.

If your tow vehicle is a diesel, you won't find that at Costco. However, you will find discounted diesel fuel at a lot of truck stops if you pay cash.

I stand corrected in my earlier post. The CostCo we used was in Prince George, BC, not Prince Rupert. Oops, wrong Prince!

At Pilot/Flying J, get their Frequent Fueler card. It usually gives you an extra penny or two off each gallon. Not much, but better than none!

Actually, they have several, they go by different names, all give 2c per gallon off. (Better deal in Canada, where they give 1 c per litre - 3.75c per gallon.) Each time I put 25+ gallons in my tank, I am happy for the 50c+ I have saved. Over a trip that could come to saving enough for a decent meal.... or two. (I accept every loyalty / discount card I am offered, so long as it does not cost me anything.)

TA / Petro, and others have the same or similar deals. Whereas Flying J / Pilot have the cards at the checkout, TA / Petro sends the card out to you. You can apply on the internet. I have to admit that I have got used to the services and standards at Flying J / Pilot truck stops, and will choose them over others wherever possible.
