Please Suggest Solo Road Trip routes from Dallas to wards Southeast US

Planning for my first SOLO trip this December last week. Please suggest some routes which are safe and budget friendly. Routes with Outdoor activities are more helpful.

To be honest if you stick to the paved Highways and Byways with up to date weather and road conditions checked out, then pretty much all routes are safe, with common sense and the right info you would actually have to search for 'unsafe'. Sure there are sometimes undesirable parts of town, but they are usually away from the tourist areas and the best thing to do if a place doesn't feel right is to simply move on. Use the same basic instinct you would at home to saty safe. Budget friendly lodgings can be found in most places along any route, but thet can get more expensive the nearer you get to a main attraction, like a popular National park for example.

As for where to go, you have a ton of choices and that will depend on your interests and how much driving you want to do compared with outdoor activities and what those activities may include. You don't say if this is a round trip or one way and it's not really clear how long you have, is it a week, or is the last week of December just when you set out ? If it's a return trip you should look at one route out, perhaps New Orleans, Tallahassee to the east coast and then Nashville, Memphis on the way back, but that's up to you.

I would search around the forums and trip planning pages above and get a couple of dots on the map, then tell us more about your goals for the trip and then you can get help in creating what is essentially your trip.
