san diego to seattle and back on a motorcycle

We live in Honolulu Hi and on 9/6/13 we're going to pick up my bike in San Diego and meander all the way to Seattle and back. Pch up and who knows on the way back. We have 18 days and and are ready for adventure. we are prepared ( fully equiped touring bike and gear) thoughts, Ideas, suggestions? Must sees? side trips? your input will be greatly appreciated. Hello and welcome to the RTA forums.

It would be worth considering taking the coast on the way back and put the Ocean and Oceanside viewpoints on your side of the road. An inland route could include Sequoia NP, Yosemite, Lake Tahoe, Lassen Volcanic NP, Crater Lake, Columbia River Gorge, Mt Rainier NP and so on.
