    Thanks for the field report.

    Did you see any bears?

I'm working on another article about Randsburg, the living ghost town near Death Valley. I think you'd get a kick of this place too.

No bears (but I suspended our food from a thin branch of a tall tree just in case). I'm a fan of US 395 from I-15 to Tahoe, especially the Owens Valley. I look forward to your article on Randsburg.

Default Fastest route in the USA

This really isn't a one tank road trip link, but not a bad route if the intent is to step a toe into each of the 50 states in the USA.... This poster thinks it can be done @ 3.2 hours per state.

June, 2013 was the first annual photography contest sponsored by Desert Companion Magazine and I penned an article about my favorite photo locations within a day's drive from Las Vegas. "Southwest Shutterbug: You'll Trip for these Pics"

Mark Holmes, long-time funny sign contributor and an expert in digital photography also contributed to this article.

    Default Road Trip Reading List?

There is an amazing collection of mass market paperbacks lurking at the Clark County Museum in Henderson, Nevada. Megan Edwards interviews Mark Hall-Patton, curator of the collection, in a new article published in the Desert Companion magazine. Read The Vegas pulp connection here.

If anyone didn't already know, Mark Hall-Patton is often featured on the History Channel series "PAWN STARS". He's often their history expert that advises the pawn brokers on items that are brought into the shop.
