How to spend 14 days in California?

Hello

Wohoo, we are going to America! This summer my girlfriend and I are going to New York for five days and to California for 14 days. We are two Danes in our twenties, who want to see as much as possible but running on a low budget. We are very pleased that we found this amazing website and hope that you guys can help us, figuring out how to get the best vacation.

We arrive to LAX august 18th from NYC and going back to Denmark on September 1th, also from LAX – we’ve booked our flight.

So far we have planned to do LA, Yosemite, SF and Highway One. We don’t want to rush, but at the same time, we would like to see as much as possible – it’s a long and quite expensive trip, when you are running at a student budget;) We are considering going to LV, SD and Grand Canyon… Is it possible to see all these places in 14 days?

So guys, do you have any recommendations for what we just have to see?
