Roadtrip from San Jose thru Yosemite, to South Lake Tahoe with kids

Our family is looking for the best way to see Yosemite and South Lake Tahoe. We have 3 year old twins and a 14 year old. We'll be arriving at SJC 9/28 and flying back to Hawaii on 10/7. Any suggestions on routes, things to see and do would be much appreciated! Mahalo!!

Hello and welcome to the RTA forums !

You will find a lot of info by digging around the forums that will help in finding things that suit your interests. A nice loop could see you going from SJ to Yosemite and then exit the park on the Tioga pass [CA120] to Mono Lake and then North to Tahoe. From Tahoe you could explore more of the Sierras and some of 'Gold country' [Murphys/Jamestown [Railtown] ] and/or Sacramento to the Napa Valley and into San Fran over the Golden Gate Bridge. A wonderful City with Alcatraz Island as an added bonus, and before the bridge a possible side trip to Muir Woods.

Among other places you could consider are Monterey and a trip around the very scenic Big Sur section of the coast Highway to Cambria and Sequoia NP.
