Looking for some ideas for a trip early November from Minneapolis to Portland. We have a dog that we would like to take along. We would like to camp if possible.
Did anyone do this route?
Any ideas?

Welcome aboard the RoadTrip America Forums!
There are a couple of good routes between Minneapolis and Portland, so if this is a round trip, you could do both, otherwise you'll have to choose. The northern most of the two basically follows I-94 across Minnesota and North Dakota by Theodore Roosevelt National Park with the option to continue west from Glendive on MT-200 to Great Falls and then up US-89 to US-2 and west through Glacier National Park to join I-90 at Coeur d'Alene. US-395 from Ritzville to Kennewick puts you on I-84 for the final run down the Columbia River Gorge to Portland.
The other route would have you heading southwest on US-168/MN-60 through Mankato to I-90 west to the sights of western South Dakota, the Badlands, Mount Rushmore and Devils Tower in eastern Wyoming and then perhaps staying on US-14 to Yellowstone and US-20 to Idaho Falls and I-15/I86 to I-84.
Either route is easily 3½ to 4 days one way plus however much time you want to devote to stops. And oif course you can mix and match teh two routes.
