North Pacific trip in October a good idea?

Hello.. I am new to this wonderful site! I am also a rookie photographer that loves taking pictures. i am planning on taking a trip to Seattle area.. not to exclude Portland and the surrounding areas...But my question is.. is October good weather for this? I've never been anywhere west of Texas! so all the help and advice would help!

In the Pacific Northwest coastal areas, the dry season generally runs June to September, the wet season November to March. In between (i.e. October) things will be in flux. Temperatures will be cool but not freezing. So it will be comfortable to be outside and the cloud cover, and lighting, will be constantly changing. In other words, with the exception of times when it is actually raining, you should be able to get some great images.

As a native Seattleite I agree with AZBuck. In Oct. it will rain. How much and how long? In general even if it isn't raining you can expect cloud cover. Can you expect a few clear days? Sure, and maybe even more so east of the Cascades.
