  1. Default Cabins/cottages in Oregon

    Hi!

I recently found out about this wonderful site and I've been spending the last 2 hours reading threads and posts here. I didn't find the particular information I was looking for, however...

Me and my girlfriend were on a road trip in the north-west two summers ago (we flew in from Sweden, where we live) and we absolutely fell in love with the Oregon coast and the forests around. Now we're planning on going there again this summer, and we want to find a cottage or a cabin of some kind to stay for at least 4-5 days. What's the best place to look for cousy/rustic/reasonably remote cottages that you can rent? Any help at all would be appreciated!

PS. Our budget is OK, but not unlimited, so preferably something within a reasonable price range!

Thanks again for this wonderful site!

    Welcome to the RTA Forum!

When it comes to finding small, boutique type rooms - be it cabins, bed and breakfasts, or really any time of room that is typically family run - one of the best resources is to take advantage of the local chamber of commerce/visitor bureau. They will usually have listing of lodging options beyond the chain motels that show up on major travel search engines.

Thanks a lot! I'll check some of those for sure!

Any other tips on must-see areas in Oregon? We're big nature fans so all tips on spectacular views, waterfalls, canyons, mountains, national parks is greatly appreciated!

The Oregon State Parks also have cabins and yurts for rent. They are in campgrounds which means they are not isolated but they are not in urban areas.

Are you connected to the Original Poster?

I will echo Donna. If you're looking for mountains, canyons, and waterfalls, then Crater Lake and the nearby Rouge River valley is certainly an area to check out.

Default The most comprehensive is VRBO

I and other members of this forum community have used VRBO -- for help in locating and renting some of the most unique and cottage-like lodging places in the west.

Here is the listing for the southern coast of Oregon to get started,
