Default The "New" RTA Store Opens Today

The RTA Moderators already know about some of this work, but we've decided to close the old RTA RoadTripping Gear Store and open a new one! (I'm still working on changing the remaining 647 product links found in the articles that point to the old store) but the new store is now live! In addition, we've created new links to categories of products and you can navigate directly to the new store sections, by putting your cursor over the word "Shop" in the green navigation bar (above) and you'll see the following topics. (Each one is a link and you can click to see what is there)...

    RoadTrip Books

    Electronics

    Atlases and Maps

    Cargo Carriers

    Coolers

    RoadTrip Games and Puzzles

    AudioBooks

We hope you swing by and see what's cooking.

You may need to clear your browser cache if you've logged in since mid-day on Friday, or you'll still see the links to the Old RTA store. They'll be effectively gone in about 24 hours.

    Default What's different

In the older version RTA RoadTripping Gear Store, we chose specific products that we've personally used and recommended, but we found that many of our members and customers found the navigation to be too clunky and not helpful for looking at similar products. We think this format will be easier for all.

    Hi,

I had a look around the shop for one of those RTA CAPS that some people are wearing when they post photos on the forum, but couldn't find one? Are these maybe only for long-time members and not for general sale, or did I just miss it in the shop?

If I can buy one, I'd be very happy to wear it when I'm driving around the UK, and of course next year in America during our trip, to promote your website!

    Cheers.

Default We ought to do that!

    Good point.

They've never been for general sale -- only given as a premium to active members for some award -- like the Tioga Pass Prognosticator -- but we really should make them more available. We are currently out of stock -- or nearly so -- I will look into this.

    Cool - thanks Mark.

If you do get them in the shop, I'll buy one straight away! As long as they're reasonably priced... :)

    Hi Mark,

Did you get a chance to look into the cap situation?

I have small-scale road trips planned in Spain, Finland, Scotland and France in the next few months, and would be happy to promote your site in this way, if they become available.

    Thanks.

Default Nudge duly noted -- thanks

Sorry, I've not done anything on this yet.

    Thanks for the nudge.

I have a shirt that says "RTA". But it stands for my teacher's association. It's a cause of occasional confusion for my husband -- I have to call my association RTA and this site, the "road trip America" site at home. Otherwise, hubby is totally confused about why someone in the association would be trying a 900 mile drive in one day!

    Default RTA confusion.

At home RTA stands for Road Traffic Authority... self explanatory. I am often asked about it with the RTA sticker on my van, cap and other items.
