    HELP!!!
I am bringing my 6 year old niece to VA and i am hoping to make this car ride fun. Does anyone know of anything interesting to do on I-80 or I-74? We are planning on taking a couple of days for this trip so if there are any festivals on that route to that would be awesome.

Default In the Interest of a Six Year Old

Welcome aboard the RoadTrip America Forums!

While 6 year olds aren't quite as easy to please as they were when younger, they're still relatively happy with anywhere new that they get to run around, explore, make noise and blow off some steam (or just get out of the car). When I travel with my own 6 year old grandson, I make a point of stopping every 2-3 hours for just such 'play' breaks. Nothing fancy, but it helps keep the trip from getting monotonous. If your niece has any particular interests, you can make a point of finding a couple of stops that cater to that as well. A couple of 'bigger' adventures might include the Children's Museum of Indianapolis or even the Leo Petroglyph in Ohio. By the way, I'd recommend that you use US-35, a mostly freeway quality road, between Dayton, OH and Charleston, WV, and forget the Tollway/Turnpike I-80 route altogether.
