  1. Default One last trip in the US - what would you suggest?!!

    Hello everyone!
This is my first post and I am seeking your opinions on what will probably be my final road trip in the USA. I have been living here for 6 years, and with mixed feelings, am due to move back to my home country in the New Year.
But for now, I am madly plotting and planning a final road trip to do with my family which consists of myself, my husband and four children aged 2-8.

We have covered much territory in the US. Tripped from Seattle down the western coastline a few times (although have yet to see Grand Canyon - gasp!); hired an RV from Orlando to LA over three weeks; road tripped Chicago - Iowa - Missouri - Nebraska, and most recently NYC to Washington DC and back...

I am trying to have my hubby take time off soon to go east (from Seattle) and see Deadwood, Mt Rushmore, Yellowstone and Badlands National Park.

However, I'd love to see the New England area...

Or travel from Orlando up to Boston (one RV deal I am looking at..).

Should I see more of the south? Georgia, Tennessee, return to Louisiana?

Help! So many wonderful options and never enough money - and definitely not enough time.

I guess just suggestions on what you think are must sees and dos, would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance...Cheers,

    Default Welcome!

Welcome to the RoadTrip America Forum!

How much time do you have available for your trip? What is your budget?

If I had but one chance left, and absolutely had to pick one "must see", I would definitely head to the Grand Canyon. Depending on how much time was left, and how well the children travel, you could head South to the Grand Canyon, across to the East coast, up to New England and back across the Northern tier of the country.

    Thank you!

I think we will leave Grand Canyon for a fly in/out mini break before we leave, as we have road tripped along the west coast a few times.

Not sure on budget, skimp on some areas (food and water) and not on others (gas, sightseeing)! Certainly won't be all luxury and sky's the limit kind of thing though, in all seriousness.

I'd like to have about 3 weeks. The kids travel really well and love exploring new places.

Please let me know any favourite places whether it's for ice cream, or BBQ, destination or souvenir and so forth. I'm really interested in what you have experienced and can recommned.

    Cheers,
