  1. Default Overnite Stops from Jacksonville to Phoenix

Hi, I'm planning a trip with 3-4 adults this summer, and would appreciate any info on places to make overnight stops along the way. I won't be doing any real sight seeing,
we just have to get to Phoenix. Some of us are in our 60s so we plan to drive about 8-10 hours a day and stay overnights in hotels like Fairfield or Courtyards. We like the ones that have restaurants nearby for dinner--and then we just want to sleep and get up and on the road again.

If there are any seasoned travellers of this route along I-10, could you share your stopping points and choices for hotels and restaurants? Thanks

    Default On the Interstate

    Welcome to the RTA Forum!

If you are sticking to the direct route, being I-10, you should have no problems at all finding mid-level chain hotels with nearby restaurants. You'll really be able to find these things at exits at very regular intervals - as almost every city along the Interstate with at least a few thousand people will have the types of places you've described.

Breaking your trip into 8-10 hour legs (about 500 miles), you'd have stops around Slidell, LA (New Orleans); San Antonio, TX; and El Paso, TX.
