  1. Default I Need People To......

Ok, so I'm getting a car this summer and I want to go on a major road trip. My friends and I turned 18 fairly recently and we want this to be one of the best summers of our lives. I want to go to a lot of places and have lots of fun. The only problem is, is that I don't know where to start. I don't know where to go. I need ideas and suggestions, you know like people who've been to a place that they loved that they recommend, etc. I wanna see beautiful scenary, I want to do something that involves water like scuba diving in reefs or something (kayaking deff., maybe even sailing), horseback riding through woods, on a beach, whatever, lol, I want to go to events festivals, just have a blast. Can people help me brainstorm or throw in some fun vacation places they went on? Thanks.

    XOXOXO

Default One or Two Details Might Help!

Welcome aboard the RoadTrip America Forums!

RoadTrips, by their very nature, are NOT one-size-fits-all journeys. What I (or anyone) may have liked is almost immaterial here. What is important to planning your RoadTrip is what's important to you, and you have told us almost exactly nothing about yourself or your trip. Where are you starting from? How much time do you have? How big a constraint is money? Clearly you enjoy the outdoors but does that include camping? Would you prefer roughing it or would you rather visit a spa/guest ranch type resort?

One small bit of trivia related to your username: Jane Fonda's real given name is Lady Jayne Seymour Fonda.

Well I dont know where you live, but. If you are near NY state, Lake George has a lot to offer.
I love that place and go there almost every year.
Fresh air, big lake, lots of Boats to rent 100Hp+ boats. Lots of good places to eat. Hiking, Horse back riding. Its a bit more family oriented, so you wount be partying till 4 am. For that go to NYC, cannt not have fun in NYC. Well I live here so I know.

More importantly, treat your money with respect, in other words, dont blow money on stupid things that you dont need.

Well I'm in PA but I use to live in NYC, so I know where to go for fun lol. Where's Lake George at? I pretty much figured with the money I read a couple other blogs about saving money but it's common sense if you're tryin to do somethin don't blow your money on stupid stuff, but yeah I feel you. Do they have kayaking at Lake George? Cuz I deff. wanna go kayaking this summer, lol.

    XOXOXO

Is there any particular reason why you absolutely have to leave the state?

I see that you are also trying to find kayaking - I must say, I don't kayak but if you cannot find some place in the expanse of Pennsylvania that will allow you to partake in that activity, you aren't looking very hard.

You don't necessarily have to leave the state to find the things that you enjoy. I would think that Western PA would have some opportunities to do kayaking on, perhaps, the Youghiogheny River. I imagine also that the Delaware River area would have some places to go as well. There are many rivers in Pennsylvania from which to choose.

Lake George is a very popular vacation destination about four hours North of New York City, in the Adirondack State Park region. If you are absolutely set on going to another state, then this would be a good choice for you, though there are many, many other places to kayak. I usually see kayakers going through town every week around here.
