  1. Default Baltimore to Toronto

    Hi,

I'm planning a trip (5 days) with some friends to go from the Baltimore area to Toronto. We're planning on over-nighting in Niagara but other than that we don't have to many ideas as to what to see/do either on the way up to or once we're in Toronto. Any suggestions would be welcome. :)

    Welcome to the RTA forum!

I asked for help from the forum before I traveled to Toronto a couple of years ago and got some great ideas. Here is the thread with those suggestions.

That other thread has some good pointers, on top of that in Toronto it depends when you'll be here:
    1. Grand Prix of Toronto July 6, 7 an 8.
    2. As mentioned check out www.toronto.com and http://www.harbourfrontcentre.com/noflash/frontpage.php
    3. The Beaches, The Danforth (Greek town) and College Street (little Italy) have great bars and restaurants.
    4. Chinatown (Spadine Ave.)
    5. The ROM.
    6. Grab a Blue Jays game? Toronto FC game?
    7. Take a ferry boat to toronto island. Rent a bike and enjoy the peace and quietness there. If that appeals to you. The ride is nice too. You get a nice glimpse of TO skyline.
    8. Niagara Falls, Niagara on the lake and the wine region. All must sees.

    Default Welcome

Welcome to the site. Some good tips on that thread which is linked. I visited Toronto and Niagara for a short break a couple of years ago. I would, in this instance, highly recommend the usual touristy things - Maid of the Mist is a must (buy the Niagara Adventure Pass and visit the other parts of Niagara too) as is the glass floor and observation deck at the CN Tower. Check out if you're in town for a ball game and, if you are, try and watch from the window of the Hard Rock Cafe

The Molston Indy is a fine suggestion - unfortunately we missed it by a week grr - as is spending time at the waterfront or taking a harbour cruise. I was surprised at the number of beaches so, if the weather is good, be sure to check those out.

I don't know where you're planning on staying in Toronto but, if camping is an option, check out the Glen Rouge Campground on the edge of town. It's a nice clean, well maintained site, with a great little neighbourhood bar a short walk away (I forget the name but it's 1/2 mile walk along the main road - on the left as you head away from Toronto)
