Can anyone advise the best route between Lee Vining and Bryce Canyon.
Hopefully we will not have to come down to Vegas first.

Welcome to the Great American RoadTrip Forum! You don't like Las Vegas, the "home" of RoadTrip America... tsk, tsk. Well, the fastest route would probably still be through Las Vegas, but a very scenic trip would be take SR-120 over Sagehen Pass to Benton Hot Springs and then east on US-6 to Warm Springs, Nevada and then the ET Highway (SR-375) to US-93 and follow that to SR-318 over to Cedar City and then you can either follow I-15 north or take the byways as described here.Originally Posted by anne bradburn

Welcome to the RTA Forum!
The idea of a "Best" Route is pretty subjective. The fastest route does appear to send you through Las Vegas, but since you don't want to go there, I guess that wouldn't be the best route for you.
What I would try as an alternative appears to take you through the middle of Nevada, using US-6, US-95, NV-375, US-93, and then NV-319/UT-56 into Cedar City, and onto Bryce from there. I have no experience on any of these routes, but it does appear to be the shortest way between the two places and it avoids Vegas.
Sorry didn't mean to offend. I should have mentioned after Bryce we are going to Grand Canyon then to LAS VEGAS !! so we would prefer to drive a different route thats all.
Thanks for your suggestion do you know how long that route would take?
PS cant wait to see Vegas! HAHA
Oh sure... Those roads are two-lane and winding, I have driven all of them many times. It will take you all day (8-10 hours) to drive from Lee Vining to Bryce on that route.Originally Posted by anne bradburn
