Sequoia National Park and what else?

My husband, teenage son, and I all agree we haven't seen and would like to see Sequoia National Park. Have also never seen Yosemite. What else should we see July 13 - 19, 2016. Those dates can be flexed either direction, but preferably no more than a week total. We've seen Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam. Prefer natural wonders. Have access to a RCI time share exchange, if any suggestions on location. Coming from Wisconsin and will need to rent a vehicle. I've seen Joshua Tree, Death Valley. I would ideally prefer areas new to all 3 of us. Would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

"Where" is a difficult question to answer as it's really what appeals to you that matters. You don't say where you are flying into which makes it more difficult as a week is quite limited if it is to include the flights. If you flew into San Fran or LA then the scenic coast highway would complete a nice loop. You really need at least 2 days to enjoy Yosemite and a full day in Sequoia and then allow for drive times. Lake Tahoe would be another possibility.
