  1. Default Vancouver to Los Angeles in May 2016

    Hello,

I am taking a trans-continental train from Toronto to Vancouver in the late spring of 2016, but then I have 2 more weeks to drive from Vancouver to Los Angeles. I know this is a lot of ground to cover, but is it do-able? What are some must-see places along the way? I typically like natural areas and historical sites or museums, but also off the wall fun places to eat and take in the sights. Any suggestions? Also, what's the best route to take for the best scenery along the way? Thanks!

    Default It's doable.

Hello and welcome to RTA !

Two weeks certainly makes the trip doable, but is it a one way or return trip ? If you mean Vancouver BC then it might not be possible to drop a rental car off in a different country and would most likely be very expensive if you could. Even if you got public transport to Seattle you would still face a hefty one way drop off charge ending in LA. As for what to see, well that would depend on whether or not it is one way or a round trip, but either way there is no 'best', just lot's of great options you can choose from, both inland and along the coast. What you should do at this point is do a little research and study the maps and see what appeals to you. Once you have a few dots on the map a route will start to form. Once you get this far we can help to fill in the blanks and make meaningful suggestions.
