Vancouver BC, to San Francisco with infants.

Hello. This is a 11 day trip with 2 infants, 2 and 4. We have been to the Oregon coast from Florence to Astoria, Portland and Seattle. Apart from wanting to spend at least 3 nights in S.F , I am not sure where to go to split up the days traveling. We will probably come back up along the coast only to the Oregon sand dunes, time permitting, but I am not sure. Any advise would be great. Thank you. My kids are good travelers and enjoy all things outdoors, but not long walks, we keep it under one hour. Thank you.

Hello and welcome to the RTA forums !

With 7 days for the journey there and back you do have time to explore a little as the drive could be done in 2 days each way quite comfortably. Much will depend on your interests of which we know nothing about. Heading south you could keep to an inland route where you can find places like Mount Ranier, the wonderful Crater Lake and Lassen Volcanic NP. From Portland you could detour along the Columbia River Gorge to Hood River and then head towards Klamath Falls via Crater Lake and then on to SF.

On the way home you can drive across the Golden Gate Bridge to Muir Woods, Point Reyes National seashore and up to Humboltd Redwoods State Park, drive the 'Avenue of the Giants', go to Redwood NP and continue on the coast until it's time to cut inland and make headway for home.
