We're heading to Denver, driving, from Seattle and wanting to take a
coastal route back north via L.A. and San Francisco. We have 8 days, once we leave Denver,2 drivers and a new vehicle...any advise? thanks!

I just want to be sure I understand -- you are starting in Seattle, driving to Denver and then Denver to Los Angeles and then back to Seattle? It is possible, but that is lots of driving over eight days! Welcome to the Great American RoadTrip Forum. The shortest possible distance for this trip would be 3437 miles, (if you add the coastal route and some other scenic routes, the mileage will be closer to 4200 miles) which means that you will have to average, at a minimum about 525 miles per day. That is certainly doable, but just wanted to make sure that is what you had planned for.
Here are some threads with excellent suggestions to help you plan your trip.

Thank you for your quick reply! Your referring info was great.
We're leaving the 19 of June from Seattle and will be in Denver for that
weekend. Our drive from Denver back to Seattle will be in an 8- 9 day stretch via the coast.
I hope that this will give us some ideas for future roadtrips. We actually live
on Vancouver Island, so our Pacific Coast south of the border is quite accessible.
thanks again!
