    Sorry but.....

You might not be far off the mark, but unfortunately your date will not stand as it is within the 15 day rule.

    * To win this prize, the date must be posted** on this Forum more than or equal to fifteen (15) days prior to the official Tioga Pass Road OPENING date. (**Your "date" must be identified in a post on this thread...**)
Have another go by all means, just make sure the date is 15 or more day's from the date of your post.

    GOOD LUCK !

    Default Almost through !

    Wow !

They have made some serious progress over the last few days and seem to be playing "catch up". Only .6 of a mile before they break through the other end !

    Tioga Road:
Crew currently past Road Camp: 41.4 plowed miles of 42 miles. Plowing continues Monday - Saturday. Average Snow Depth is 4 to 6 feet. Plowing operation will continue today.
Once that has happened they need to clean and repair the road before it can open, so a while to wait yet.

Default June is looking more likely again!

Wow, and I can attest that in southern California, it has been chilly and wet of late.

    Default Faster boy's.

It would seem that it didn't hold them back to much after all, they broke through yesterday.

    Tioga Road:
Plows have reached Tioga Pass and will now be working on widening the road. Plowing continues Monday - Saturday. Average Snow Depth is 4 to 6 feet. Plowing operation will continue today.
With only light snow showers forecast there is a good chance it will be open within the fortnight, but they will have to go some for my prediction of the 27th May to come good !.

Left Mariposa today for Lake Tahoe - Tioga Pass 120 closed and Sonora Pass 108 closed. Told by a sage resident in Mariposa not to be surprised if Tioga Pass is closed for another two weeks. Local knowledge - will be interesting to see if right.

From Mariposa took route 49 and 88 to reach Lake Tahoe. Early evening - Friday - and it is snowing here. Appears winter is not yet over.

    Mark,

Yes tires on the road again. Tahoe is 6250 feet above sea level so the weather can be unpredicable. Saturday and today woke to a few inches of snow in South Lake Tahoe. Obviously more snow in the high road passes. Soon set to return down towards SF via Napa so the weather should get warmer.

    Default Looks OK.

No problem, I rarely read things properly, Lol !

Had a quick look through the thread and it would appear that June 8 is available ! [You might want to double check taking the above statement into consideration ;-) ]
