  1. Default Help for 2 Scottish Lads Road tripping and Partying - Seattle to Vegas!

Hello guys... were looking for some help we fly to Seattle in september this year for 23 days!
The rough route we have so far is: Seattle (2nights) - Mount Rainer (1 Night) - Portland (2 Nights) - New Port (1 Night) - Grants Pass (2 Nights) - Eureka (1 Night) - Santa Rosa (1 Night) - San Francisco (4 Nights) - Monterry (2 Nitghts) - Cambria (1 Night) - Santa Monica (3 Nights) - Las Vegas (3 Nights)
How does this route sound to you... its not set in stone the only restraints we have are we fly into Seattle and out of Vegas! We want to visit San Fran and L.A on route but if you have any other suggestions then let us know if we have missed anything or if we should forget some of the places mentioned!
We're 2 young Scottish guys looking to party out the last days of our 30's so please bear this in mind!
We look forward to your replies!

It looks like you have left a fair amount of time to get between destinations, so you are off to a good start!

How you get from place to place will be the interesting part.

For example, when going between Portland and Newport, OR, it is quickest to take I-5 down to Corvallis and then cut over to the coast. However, it is a much more interesting trip to go from Portland to Astoria and then down the coast to Newport. There are interesting places to stop near Astoria (e.g. Battery Russell at Fort Stevens State Park [the only US military installation on the mainland to be attacked during WWII]) and down the coast if you're interested in US history. There's also an aircracft museum and cheese/ice cream factory tour in Tilamook and other places if history isn't your thing. The scenery alone is worth the extra driving time. Heceta Head lighthouse just north of Florence is one of my favorite stops along the Oregon coast, so I usually go there and then cut across OR-126 to Eugene to get down to Grants Pass. Stop my Mo's for seafood chowder when it Newport, Yachats (pronounced YA-hahts), or Florence.

When you get into California it's worth your time to see the giant redwoods in Jedediah Smith State Park of Redoods National Park. Don't forget to stop and take a picture in front of Paul Bunyon at the Trees of Mystery south of Crescent City.

Come to think of it, none of this sounds like a "party trip" at all. I guess I'm so used to be an old dude I don't know where the party scene is in Oregon or Northern California.
