Thanks for the parks tip. We'll definitely take that up. Had another couple of questions though:

We're going in September. Where is the best place to see what events are happening by state? I couldn't see anything on RTA?

Also we're going through Las Vegas. Any advice for seeing the best of the strip in 2 days??! We're Rat Pack fans and were thinking of staying at the Sahara (despite poor reviews) just for fun...

Thanks for all your advice. A great site!!

    Default Go with the flow.

For events you can search place names before leaving and they normally will give info on any events happening during each month or while traveling just visit the local visitor centres and talk to the locals.

With a couple of days along the strip you will have time to get an overview of the best there is on offer. There is a real buzz around the place and you just get swept along with the crowds looking at one unbelievable attraction after the other. The Venetian is quite something and the street attractions such as the Bellagio water fountains and the pirate ship battle outside Treasure Island are quite something, not to mention the erupting Volcano at one of the others close by, but to be honest it's all amazing inside and out of the Hotels.
