Drive from south NJ to NY and NH to south

In a week, me and a few friends will be driving from Southern NJ to the Adirondack Mnts and then across to the White Mountains in NH and then heading south through Boston and down to the Phila area again (Home!) Is there any skiing hostels to stay in the NY Adirondack area? Ive never been there before (I am however familiar with NH and Boston, MA area) We are looking for an interesting lodging experience, we were considering winter camping too, but I am having a hard time finding year round campsites.

Also, any suggested places to visit/eat/stay on our drive? Thanks for the advice!

A few places that come to mind that are on the way (or not too far off of it) between South Jersey and the Adirondacks:

-Delaware Water Gap (a little out of the way probably)
-West Point Military Academy
-the Catskills
-Cute towns like Saugherties and New Paltz near the Catskills
-lots of nice towns along the Hudson - Croton, Beacon, Hudson
-there are also lots of B&Bs and such in the Hudson River Valley -- really beautiful area
-In Beacon, NY there is a cool modern art museum (the Dia Beacon)
-Hyde Park (FDR's house)
