Default It is back at New Mexico Tech

And it is located in Socorro, NM and good job using Google Earth to pin-point it's location! Since I can't find my notes as to the name of the sculpture, or the artist.... (my bad)..... I think we'll conclude that this one is finit.

Default This one might be tricky too

    There are some visual clues....

What's the name of this pier and where is it?

Crystal Pier, on Mission Beach in San Diego, California.

ETA: That looks really nice. It's 7 F (-14 C) and dropping fast where I am at the moment.

    Default AKA "Pacific Pier"

And for extra credit -- what is that structure that you can just barely see? Or what makes this pier rather unique?

Excellent work by the way, have you visited this place?

P.S. Seven degrees? Eh! I've been moaning because it was 29 degrees -- 7 degrees is beyond acceptablility!

Default From water to dry sandy desert....

No fair getting out your zoom lens and reading the exhibits for a clue... But where is this place and why are we here?

Extra credit: There's a hotel on the pier.

    Default Extra Credit Bestowed!

Yep, there's a motel right on the pier -- I've always thought it would be a cool place to sleep for the night in a raging winter Pacific storm!

    Here's a photo!

    Default A Winter Time View!

OK, while that desert view puzzle of Gerald Thurman's simmers along, I thought it might be time for a view from east of the Mississippi River.... Where is this?

    What city?
What's the name of this walkway?

Their are motel rooms on the pier, but looks like someone got that before me.

It's been a long time since I last visited Mission Beach and I have seen a lot of other California piers. It took a while to remember where this one was.

Default It's been a long time since I sat on a beach

There's plenty of sand in the Mojave desert, but that still a bit different from sitting on a beach with the ocean!

Speaking of brisk weather -- Mavericks was firing up pretty good this week and those hard-core surfers were running down monster waves with air temps at 26 degrees.... (When the page loads, click on December 9th and then left and right on the navigation arrows!)
